While outside in my driveway chatting with my buddy Chris, I had felt a sharp pinch on the top of my naked foot. Quickly reacting to it, I swatted my appendage.
The pinching gave way to stinging, and I immediately looked down. The nuisance of an insect had, at that very moment, retired and became extinguished.
I limped into the house to grab my camera, for I didn’t want to lose this dead pain-in-the-ass. I had a rush go through me as I wanting to shoot my foot with the now dead blood-sucker. Glued to me by the juice that had become its own source of demise, I happily post this photo.

I had to laugh as I read your description of how you got this shot. Only a true photographer would go to such lengths as to keep a dead bug on them for a shot.Good job…
